Edwin product development - was born and brought up on a ranch in the shadows of Mount Kenya and speaks several tribal dialects. He finished his education in Kenya with a diploma in Tourism Management. He has been actively involved in East African tourism and conservation. Edwin spends all of his time on safari, whether with guests or friends. His love of the bush is contagious and his knowledge superb. He pioneered many safari treks in Africa. No one understands the safari world better. He worked for Abercrombie & Kent, Fairmount hotels, Sopa Lodges

Esther operations - joined the company in 2001 having worked in the travel & safari industry for many years prior to joining. After graduating from the University of Nairobi, Kate decided that her love of travel and a degree in geography meant that she was destined to work in safari. She was instrumental in expanding our Kenya safari programs and has since gone on to establish and develop our Uganda gorilla tracking department. Esther has recently started helping the Tanzania Serengeti migration team alongside her duties

Rian Finance Controller qualified as a chartered accountant in 1987 and followed a successful career in public practice. He particularly enjoyed the opportunities this provided to gain knowledge and experience of the commercial issues and strategies applicable to a wide variety of businesses which informed the advice he was able to give to his clients

Mark Hotels Reservations Manager - began his career with hotel management training before working with united touring company. She then proceeded to work at Block Hotels as a reservations manager before coming to work at African Safaris Adventures in 2002. Since then he has travelled extensively in Africa and his love of off-the-beaten track itineraries means that he is ideally suited to planning the most intricate and unusual itineraries. Having been to every single one of the East and Southern African countries we deal with and counting a close encounter with a male silverback gorilla in Ugandaas one of her greatest moments,

Carol tour consultant - As part of the African Safaris team, carol brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the company. Before studying tourism course in Arusha she spent much time traveling, including six months taking in Zanzibar Island. After carol she lived and worked in Kenya hosting in safari camps. She perfected her customer service skills working right at the forefront of travel customer service. She now works as the tour consultant at African safaris & Adventures.

Gideon Web Master -  After working as a freelance Graphic Designer and online marketer for a number of years Gideon joined African safaris and Adventures in 2004 and is now a key member of the website online marketing team. Whilst studying Graphic Design at the Surrey Mombassa Institute of Design Gideon also managed to travel in Seychelles & Zambia 

Our Tour guides
Care is taken to ensure your guides are the best in their profession, well known to us, with a great sense of humor, long experience in the bush and an intimate knowledge of Africa’s wildlife and its habits. The guides - all of whom speak fluent Swahili English and French - will ensure that your safari is an unqualified success. Most of the safaris are fully escorted to maximize your experience and to diminish all the uncertainty that might lie within a safari to Africa. My homeland is a mystical place and a lot of uncertainties might arise during a tour to this vast and unknown realm, but we promise you that our tour guides, game rangers and tour leaders are some of the best that there is and are always just a step away to answer all the questions, make any additional arrangements and fulfil your African dream.

Solomon - grew up on his family farm near Machakos. He spent his early years looking after cattle. Without formal education these experiences formed the base of his love and knowledge of Kenya's flora and fauna. James has been guiding safaris for almost twenty years and is one of a very few silver badge professional guides. He is a brilliant ornithologist.

Biko is a Samburu who was raised in the Maralal area of northern Kenya. Biko was first employed at the age of sebenteen at Samburu Lodge. Biko has been working with African Safaris and Adventures ever since. Biko speaks Samburu, Swahili and English, French and is proficient in all aspects of the safari business. Biko is a tour driver as well and has taken many clients on safaris with one of our safari vehicles. 

Joseph koto – Joseph is a biologist and a photographer who has travelled extensively through Africa. Joseph developed a passion for wildlife and ecology. Joseph was raised in Tanzania where he studied Wildlife at The University of tourism. Since University Joseph has worked as a biologist, working predominantly with endangered birds.
