Kubu Lodge Hotel offers luxury lodge accommodation and is situated in a 30 hectare park on the banks of the Chobe River, in the north-eastern corner of Botswana, just 2 kms from the historic meeting place of four countries, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe. On the doorstep of the world famous Chobe National Park, and only an hour away from the mighty Victoria Falls. Kubu Lodge is an ideal place from which to explore this fascinating region. Kubu Lodge is a small, privately owned and run lodge in Botswana's warm tropical climate.  Comfortable thatched chalets on stilts overlook a shaded lawn that spreads beneath giant ebony and wild fig trees to the river's edge. An idyllic setting. Kubu Lodge is well known for its fine cuisine offering buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and Table d' hote dinner. The Botswana settlement of Kazungula has traditionally extended a warm welcome and hospitality to all its visitors and this tradition is proudly continued at Kubu Lodge (named after the Setswana word for Hippo, which abound in the river. More than 400 different bird species can be seen in the area and the elusive Chobe Bushbuck is regularly seen on the nature trail.

11 charming chalets, all thatched and raised on stilts to give panoramic views of the Chobe River. Rustic exterior belies the comfort within; full en-suite facilities, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, tea and coffee making facilities and comfortable beds. All are set on expansive lawns beneath giant ebony and wild fig trees along the banks of the river. Please note the lodge is not wheelchair friendly

Swimming pool is set down by the river with pool loungers under the trees. Towels are available from reception.

Kubu Lodge Hotel Restaurant
Serving 3 meals a day, Kubu Lodge is well known for its excellent cuisine, catering for all tastes. Buffet breakfast Buffet lunch Dinner: Table d' hote. Bar: Centrally located in the thatched restaurant, it commands a magnificent view over the grounds and the Chobe River. The fully stocked bar, and wine cellar, are open daily. The restaurant consists of an indoor dining room, with an upstairs lounge and bar. A two tier wooden verandah allows for meals to be set outdoors. A separate “braai” (barbecue) area leads to a small boma that is available for private dinners. When not in use, the boma may also be used by guests to enjoy their tea/coffee around the fire.

Curio Shop: For that little piece of Africa to take home, our curio shop is full of locally produced items. Swimming Pool: Private and secluded. With a view of the river.
Reading lounge; Situated behind chalet 7, the reading lounge has some comfortable chairs, magazines, books and board games as well as a writing desk to use for writing the postcards.  Nice cool spot on a hot summer’s day.
LAUNDRY:  Laundry is done daily – FOC to “Inclusive” guests. A nominal fee is charged for all other guests.

NATURE TRAIL Take a walk along the 2km Nature Trail that meanders through some pristine indigenous riverine habitat on the Chobe. Armed with binoculars, enjoy the fantastic birding that is on offer or perhaps catch a glimpse of the elusive Chobe Bushbuck that are prevalent on the property.
Game Viewing: “Inclusive” rates include two activities per day. Guests may choose from 3 game drive activities per day: dawn 06h00 – 09h00am; mid morning 09h30 – 12h30 (summer) and 09h00 – 12h00 (winter); afternoon 15h00 – 18h00.
There are also 2 boat cruise activities per day: mid morning 09h30 – 12h30(summer) 09h00 -12h00 (winter), and afternoon 15h00 – 18h00.
Additionally the lodge offers a short boat cruise from Kubu Lodge to the confluence of the Chobe & Zambezi Rivers

Fully guided fishing trips can be arranged. Either short trips from the lodge, or longer trips on the upper Chobe (above the rapids).
Day Trips to Victoria Falls can also be booked on request.
Self guided “Nature Trail” on the property of Kubu Lodge; a guide list is available from the front desk. Visits to a working Crocodile Farm and a Reptile (snake) Park are also available on request.
