Day 1 - Cairo/Luxor
Morning transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor where you will be met and escorted to your Deluxe Nile Cruise Ship, your floating hotel for the next 8 days as you cruise the legendary River Nile. This afternoon you visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples, a holy city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues and obelisks built over the centuries and dedicated to the God Amon-Ra, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 2 - Luxor
Sail to Edfu through the Esna Lock . An exhilarating carriage ride takes you through town to visit the Temple of Horus (237 B.C.), the Falcon God. When you return to your ship, you continue sailing to Kom Ombo for overnight. Tonight you enjoy a very special costume party "native Egyptian and Pharaonic style." What is your fantasy? Who will you be? Prizes are awarded to the most creative.
Day 3 - Kom Ombo
Early morning sail to Aswan. Arrive Aswan and sail by "Felucca" sailing boat around Kitchener Island. Today you also visit Aswan's Old & High Dams, Philae Temple and the Granite Quarries.
Day 4 - AswanKom Ombo
Morning at leisure in Aswan. ( Optional - Transfer to the Airport for your flight to Abu Simbel, site of the magnificent Temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. An engineering marvel, the great temple was moved up the hillside to save it from flooding by the waters of Lake Nasser when Aswan's High Dam was built. Return to Aswan and to your ship). Afternoon Sail to Kom Ombo and visit Kom Ombo's Greco-Roman style Temple of Sebok, the crocodile god. Standing serenely on a hilltop, the site offers an incredible view of the Nile. Continue to Edfu for overnight.
Day 5 - Edfu/Luxor
Sail to Luxor for a day of leisure. Overnight.
Day 6 - Luxor
Early morning visit to Luxor's West Bank -- "Thebes". Sightseeing includes the Valley of the Kings where some 64 of Egypt's Pharaohs had their palatial resting places hewed into the sheer rock; visit King Tutankhamon’s tomb; the Valley of the Queens, that still mind-boggling Deir El Bahari, an architectural tour de force built against the sheer Theban cliff range; and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 7- Luxor
Today sail to Denderah where you will see the Ptolemaic hypostyle hall, crypts and classic sanctuary of the God Ptah, legendary Creator of the Universe. Meander through the once thronged Temple of Hathor, Goddess of Love. Return to Luxor for overnight.
Day 8 - Luxor
Disembark and transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for overnight. NOTE: Slight changes may occur due to circumstances beyond our control. Please ask your Guides.
