Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia always welcomes its guests with warmest smiling salvoes. Addis Ababa, which literally means “new flower’’ is Ethiopia's largest metropolis and was founded some 118 years ago. This vibrant city, with wide tree-lined boulevard, fine architecture and glorious weather is ideal place to explore. The city stretches from 1800 to 3200 meters above sea level, with a population of nearly 3.5 - 4 million. Addis is the home of various nations and nationalities who are also traditionally known as humble, friendly and charming towards foreigners.

Addis Ababa is an official diplomatic capital of Africa with more than 90 embassies and consular representatives, which makes it the fourth diplomatic center in the world. Addis was chosen as the Headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in 1988. Addis also houses the Headquarters of the then Organization of African Union (OAU) and now Africa Union (AU) since 1963.You will tour the National museum of Ethiopia. This whole tour will also take you to some of the most interesting monastries and palaces of Abyssinia. You visit the birth place of Queen Sheba. In Axum, you visit the church of St Mary of Tsion (Legend has it that the Ark of the Covenant is deposited here. Transport is done combing both driving and flying.

Day 1
On arrival Addis Ababa Bole airport you are met by our guide with paging board and transfer hotel. Afternoon tour of the capital – Addis Ababa. You will visit the Entoto Mountains, with a very nice view over the capital. You also tour the National museum, St.George church and the Merkato, the biggest open air market in Africa and shops. Dinner and overnight at Ghion Hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast transfer to the airport to fly to Bahirdar, and transfer hotel for check-in. If time permits, go to visit Bezait palace, with very nice view over Lake Tana and Blue Nile. After lunch, afternoon boat trip on Lake Tana to admire the beautiful monasteries over the lake’s islands, as Ura Kidane Mehret and Mahal Zeghie Gyorgis. Dinner and overnight in Bahirdar.
Day 3
Morning drive to admire the Blue Nile falls. Drive back to the hotel for lunch at Bahirdar. Afternoon drive to Gondar, city of castles and churches. Dinner and overnight in Gondar.
Day 4
Full day visit of castles and churches in Gondar: visit the castle’s compound, the Debre Birhan Sellasie church (light of Trinity) with wonderful murals, the King Fasiladas bath, the old Qusquam monastery, Empress Mentewab palace and more. ON Gondar.
Day 5                     
Excursion to visit the Semien Mountains. Back to Gondar for overnight.
Day  6
After your breakfast, fly to Lalibela, referred to as the 8th Wonder in the world, and afternoon visit the first group of the rock-hewn churches. All meals at your hotel in Lalibela.
Day 7
Morning visit one of the churches out of the town. We propose an excursion by mules to the Asheten Mariam church, with spectacular views too. Or by car to the cave church of Naktuleab. Afternoon remaining churches in Lalibela.
Day 8: Axum
After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Fly to Axum. You visit the steles, different archeological sites, the birth place and the palace of Queen of Sheba; churches, among which in the church of St Mary of Tsion ( Legend has it that the Ark of the Covenant is deposited here. Overnight in Axum.
Day 9 Fly Axum – Addis Ababa
You fly to Addis Ababa. Afternoon at your leisure. Dinner traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances. Evening departure (or next day)
