Meru National Park
Meru National Park is located on the equator, near Mount Kenya and is part of a vast conservation area along the Tana River encompassing Meru and Kora National Parks and the adjacent National Reserves of Bisanadi and Mwingi, with a total area of over 4,000 sq. kilometres. Meru National Park contains numerous rivers and waterways including the mig hty Tana river and varied habitats of swamp, riverine forest, savannah and dry bush country.

The second largest fresh water lake in the world, Lake Victoria geographically dominates the area with its 70,000 sq km surface. Despite its huge size, the murky lake is not that deep - only 100 metres at its deepest.

Although it borders on three countries - Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda - it is no longer possible to travel between these countries via the lake.

Malindi is located on the north coast of Mombasa. Watamu Beach is one of Kenya’s finest beaches and the site of a Marine National Park offering excellent snorkelling and scuba diving. The nearby Arabuku Sokoke forest is a bird watchers paradise and the extensive inland Mida Creek hosts a wide variety of splendid birdlife. Malindi has it’s own airport with flights to/from Nairobi, Mombasa and Lamu.

Founded in the 7th century, Lamu still reflects the typical picture of the old Arabic dhow ports. Not only the swahili -culture has its roots in Lamu but hand finished, richly carved furniture and doors.
Old 18th century stone houses, women dressed in the traditional bui-bui, donkey caravans, fishermen in their dhows with huge triangular sails giving the atmosphere of the busy days of the past.

Lake Nakuru National Park a shallow alkaline lake, lies about 100 miles north of Nairobi.  The lake is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth - myriads of pink flamingo whose numbers are legion, often more than a million and which literally turn its shores pink. They feed on the abundant algae which thrives in the warm waters.

Tsavo-East is one of Kenya’s oldest established national parks: covering approximately 40 per cent of the total area of all Kenya’s wildlife parks. It is accredited as one of the world’s leading biodiversity strongholds, with bushy grassland and open plains alternate with semi-arid acacia scrub and woodlands.

Meaning the “place of cool waters” in the Masai language, this once uninhabited area became the base camp for the building of the railway. Samburu National Parks is a hot and arid area characterised by a parched landscape of hills and plains.

The refreshing watersof the Ewaso Ngiro River run through Samburu and attract plenty of wildlife - including elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra. Leopards are also regularly spotted.

Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres.

Lake area varies greatly according to rainfall, with an average range between 114 and 991 sq kms.
