Diani House Hotel has been the holiday home of the Archer family since 1964. John and AnneLise (Archer) Clark began hosting guests at Diani House in 1989 and over the years have built up a loyal team of experienced staff. Diani House is set in twelve acres of forested garden on Diani Beach, thirty kilometers south of Mombasa. With its large, self-contained bedrooms, these charming old settlers' beach house is an idyllic family retreat - and the perfectly relaxing end to a bush-bashing safari. The house's managers will organize any activity or excursion available on the Kenya coast, including an overnight stay at their own tented camp in the nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve - for those who want to see a few more elephants before they head home!

The main old house consists of the lounge and dining areas and just oozes charm. Big floppy sofas, plenty of books and Kenyan artifacts embellish the place. Guests at Diani house are encouraged to help themselves from the bar and then complete the “conscience book” with what they have taken. This is the first time ever we have encountered this and absolutely love the concept. A simple principle of trust, and the best part it you don’t feel ripped off by their booze prices when you leave.

Fishermen are welcome as the owner of Diani house is very enthusiastic about his fishing and will gladly take clients out. Other than the fishing, it is a place to come and chill out, get away from the crowds and relax. The beach is very private and a maximum of 12 guests at any one time ensure that you will enjoy a fantastic private holiday. Diving and snorkeling can be arranged for you as well as any other excursions you might want to undertake.

All of the rooms at Diani House are individually furnished in a kind of African cottage way with pleasant colorful bed spreads, African curios and other arty decorations. The rooms are all en suite with ceiling fans, private verandah, great views and home feel.
