It is located in western Rwanda, on the shoreline of the lake Kivu, about 134 km from Kigali City, or two hours drive on all weather tarmac road that traverses green, terraced hills of the central plateau of Rwanda.

Priviously stated-owned, the Kibuye Guest House is now managed by a private Company that has refurbished and renovated it to very high standard.

Facilities
Accommodation
The accommodation facility consists of modern, tile-roofed, cottages, lined up along the lake shoreline, with balconies facing the blue, serene waters of lake Kivu. All the cottages have comfortable double beds, showers toilets and TV.

Restaurants and Bars
Dinner and breakfast are served in the elegant main dining room that faces the lake, or outside the main building a couple of metres from the blue waters of the lake. You can enjoy your breakfast watching the reflection of the morning sunrise, or the spectacular evening sunset on the lake while being caressed by the cool evening breeze.

Kibuye Guesthouse is renown for its cuisine of fresh vegetables local and international dishes. The famous Rwandese "brochette" served in open air by the lake, is very popular.

Outside the main house is the popular Kivua bar. enjoy a "sundowner" in the cool evening breeze while watching the in-coming boats. A wide choice of local and imported brands of beverages is available.

Sports and Entertainment
Sports lovers will enjoy the boat rides and island excursions operated on lake Kivu or just take out a dug-out canoe for leisurely exploration of the lake. Traditional dances may be arranged to entertain the Hotel Guests.
