Tarangire Sopa Lodge is built as a 'low profile' structure, nestled into a wooded hillside valley overlooking Tarangire Hill. Sopa Lodge Tarangire is hidden among the kopjes, surrounded by ancient baobab trees. It is the home of the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa, and other game including the elusive leopard. Over 400 bird species can be spotted here as well. With water constantly available in the area, the greenery is lush providing a wonderful contrast to the burnt ground. The Hotel Lobby is Spacious and airy with marble floors, and has glass sliding doors that open out to a verandah where one can relax and enjoy the view. The ceiling has a wooden finishing, and the décor with plants in strategic places, gives it a feeling of total relaxation, much needed after the long and dusty drive to the lodge.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge is located in the Tarangire National Park and is one of Tanzania's most easily accessible conservation areas. Tarangire Sopa Lodge is operated by Sopa Lodges & hotels was opened in 1995, the lodge can accommodate 160 guests in 75 suites, each enjoying wall-to-wall carpeting, a private lounge with a mini bar, a bedroom with two queen size beds and ample room for a third, an en-suite bathroom with shaver sockets and a hair dryer, and a private verandah which offers stunning views over the baobab studded landscape. All beds are fitted with mosquito nets and access to the balcony is through sliding doors fitted with mosquito screens. Each suite has a mini-fridge, complimentary bottled water, and glasses. Bathroom supplies provided by the Tarangire Sopa Lodge include shampoo, soaps and shower gel. Freshly laundered towels and washcloths are provided daily. Hot and cold running water is available each 6 am to 8 am and 6 pm to 8 pm. Cold water is available at all times. Electricity is available 24 hours. 

Tarangire Sopa Lodge Hotel Restaurant
The Restaurant: Located in the main building, the high ceiling spacious restaurant and terrace have spectacular views of the bush and resident wildlife. The area is non-smoking. Meals served are a cosmopolitan combination of European, African and Asian dishes, all made with fresh produce. Breakfast is served buffet style. Both lunch and dinner comprise of four courses: starter, soup, main course and pudding, incorporating vegetarian options.The Lounge and Tuska Bar serves soft drinks, beers, wines, cocktails and liqueurs, tea and coffee all day and evening. Sunset Meeting Room offers excellent facilities for conferences and meetings of all kinds.The Coffee Shack is open all day for complimentary tea and coffee, located near to the reception area. Additionally, a wide range of liqueur coffees and chocolates are available.
Pool Bar: Located at the swimming pool, the Pool Bar is surrounded by a patio area and small sheltered umbrella areas. Soft drinks, beers, wines, cocktails and liqueurs, tea and coffee are available from the pool bar all day. Outdoor lunches and buffets are available on prior request.

The lodge has direct-dial satelite telephone facilities as well as satellite television and wildlife-video-film options. A number of lodge electrical generating systems provide 240volts, 50 cycles 24 hours a day. Our water supply comes from nearby springs but guests are advised not to drink from the taps. Instead, complimentary bottled mineral water is provided in the mini bars while further stocks are available for sale in the main bar. We welcome kids of all ages and can provide both special meals at convenient times and baby sitters on request. The Guest Shop stocks a wide selection of curios, gift items, clothing, film, sweets, postcards, personal requisites and toiletries. The unique swimming pool which is located at the edge of a rocky gorge has its own bar and snack kitchen and offers a refreshing interlude between game drives. We can supply diesel and can carry out most minor repairs.

Electricity: The lodge has a number of generators which provide electric current to the lodge. The current is 240volts 50 cycles.
Water: Water is obtained for lodge usage from two bore holes situated close to the lodge. Guests are advised not to drink the water from the tap. Bottled water is provided in each suite and additional supplies are available for sale in the lodge.
Children: Sopa Lodges operate family friendly hotels and children are welcome to all their hotels & lodges and can arrange for special children meals of a type and at a time most suitable to the individual. Baby sitters can be arranged on request.
Guest Shop: In the main lobby is a guest shop stocking a wide selection of curios, gift items, safari clothing, film and a variety of guest requisites.
Clothes: For most of the year only the lightest of safari clothes will be required, although during the rainy seasons or in the early Mornings and evenings a light sweater may be required. The main lodge areas of cocktail bar and restaurant have an atmosphere which may encourage guests to wear something special for the evening. Swimwear and sunbathing clothes are a must for relaxing around the pool.
Swimming Pool: Tarangire Sopa Lodge has a large imaginatively designed pool with an island, bar and barbecue area. Most guests will be unable to resist a cooling dip in the afternoon before a game drive.
The park is host to a number of rarely seen species of wildlife including eleand, oryx, kudu and gerenuk. Another speciality are tree climbing pythons and some 3,500 resident elephants. Tarangire also has the highest number of recorded bird species for any habitat in the world.
Conferences:A 3000 sq ft conference facility is available for conferences, meetings, presentations, private lunches or dinners and cocktail parties. Situated just off the main lobby it looks on to the many baobab trees which are a feature of the lodge site.
