<td height="56" colspan="2" valign="top"><p><strong>Gorilla tracking tours</strong> and <strong>Chimpanzee Trekking safaris</strong> are very captivating activity; it involves walking in the wilderness in search of these great apes. There are two <strong>gorilla</strong> parks in <strong>the pearl of Africa </strong>which are prime areas for tracking these endangered giants. The Kigezi <strong>gorilla</strong> Reserve, [Mgahinga National Park] is on the northern rim of the Virunga volcanoes. The only habituated gorilla group in Mgaginga crossed into <strong>Rwanda</strong> in 2006, but is expected to return to its old range in future because of human encroachment in <strong>Rwanda</strong>. </p>
<p>The <strong>Bwindi</strong><strong> Impenetrable</strong> Forest in the south west of <strong>Uganda</strong> is the richest forest in the country in terms of plant species, and there exists more than half (about 350) of the world's population of mountain gorillas. There are four primate family locations for tracking. Three families are accessed from Buhoma in the North of the Park, and the fourth is accessed from Kisoro in the south. <strong>Kibale Forest National Park</strong> is inhabited by many large families of<strong> chimpanzees</strong>, several of which are accessible to human observation by walking trails cut through the dense forest. There is also a wonderfully diverse community of other primates, including red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, and black and white colobus monkey. Along with these are olive baboon, bush baby, and the nocturnal potto. These animals have been the subject of long-term research projects, so they are now tame and easy to observe. Kibale Forest is located just east of the Rwenzori Mountains, near the town of Fort Portal. </p>
<p>You can <strong>also track chimpanzees in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks. </strong>These<strong> Uganda safaris </strong>give travelers opportunities to gain close access to the world's last wild <strong>gorillas and chimpanzees</strong>. Enjoy observing two separate gorilla families in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and two different gorilla families in Rwanda's Parc' Nationales des Volcans. <strong>Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park</strong></br>
<br>
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park with lunch enroute. <strong>Kibale National Park</strong> is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. It is home tour closest relative – the endangered <strong>Chimpanzee.</strong> The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species that include the threatened Red Colobus monkey, l’hoesti monkey Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked, Velvet and the Black / White Colobus monkeys. An afternoon visit to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and guided walk around the Magombe Swamp provides you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. Overnight Ndali Lodge /Primate Lodge/Chimp Nest lodge/ Toro Resort.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2: Kibale National Park</strong> –<br>
Rise early and report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for briefing prior to setting off to track Chimpanzees in the forest. Chances of viewing the Chimps are over 90% but not a guarantee. This morning you will not only search for families of chimpanzee but other primates as well. After lunch, drive to Nyakasura where you will be able to see stalagmites and Stalactites that are locally referred to as “Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru”. <strong>Dinner and over night</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park<br>
</strong>Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. You will drive along the Rwenzori ranges and Savanna grasslands. Queen Elizabeth National park boasts of a variety of big game like; lions, elephants, buffaloes, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbucks, the comical warthogs and rare / elusive leopards Before sunrise embark on an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You will most likely to meet grazing Hippos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, bushbucks, waterbucks, the elusive leopard and of course the several warthogs. Lunch break then drive to the dock on the channel for an afternoon launch cruise on Kazinga channel that joins Lakes Edward and George. It is a waterway that is filled with schools of hippos and elephants, buffalos which can be seen at the banks. There is also a rich variety of birds on the channel. Dinner and over night Jacana Mweya Safari Lodge / Ecology Institute hostel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 4: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park</strong><br>
After breakfast carry game drive or do chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge+ choose one activity After the chosen activity drive to Bwindi Forest National park via Ishasha – the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park. This area is famous for the tree climbing lions, which with luck may be spotted on the large fig trees. This drive to Bwindi takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment. Bwindi National park is home of the rare mountain gorillas and other primates. Apart from gorillas, there are a wide variety of primates that may be seen. The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it.<br>
Check in <strong>at Bwindi Lodge /Kitandara/ Mantana/ Buhoma Community Rest Camp</strong> for dinner and overnight.</p>
<p><strong>Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park</strong><br>
After breakfast set off early with your guides <strong>to track the gorillas</strong>. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed world heritage site, its one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number about 600. There is also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Dinner and overnight <strong>Buhoma Homestead / Buhoma Community Rest Camp.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Kabale (Lake Bunyonyi) </strong>After breakfast, transfer to Kabale where you will have your lunch. Take on an afternoon boat ride to some of the islands on the lake. The boat ride is most likely to yield sightings of rare bird species. Have the evening at leisure as you enjoy the scenic lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and over night at <strong>Heritage Lodge/ Bushara Island Camp / Bunyonyi Overland Resort.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi Kabale – Kampala.</strong><br>
After breakfast, return to Kampala with lunch en-route. Along the way you will be able to see banana plantations, Ankole long-horned cattle. Stop over at the Mpambire local drum makers or at any crafts display centre for souvenirs before proceeding to Kampala.</p>
