Kapinga Camp is situated in the extreme north of the Kafue National Park and the North West corner of the unspoilt Busanga Plain, one of Zambia's most significant wetland resources. The 290 square mile Plains are home to thousands of Red Lechwe, puku, roan, sable, oribi, duiker, the Defassa Waterbuck, herds of tsessebe, hartebeest, zebra and buffalo.
This wealth of plains game is a big attraction for predators, including leopard, wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion up to 20 strong. The prolific game makes for exciting day and night 4x4 and walking safaris. In addition, birding is fantastic here with over 490 species to be seen on specialist bird walks and drives, including the endemic Chaplin's Barbet as well as Wattled and Crowned Crane, Fulleborn's and Rosy-Throated Longclaws, Lanner Falcon and large flocks of Open-Billed and Yellow-Billed Storks. The high standard of guiding here will ensure that you get the most from your visit.
The Camp, comprising three luxury tents housing a total of six people, is designed to blend in with the environment, natural products have been used as much as possible in its construction. Dinners are served in a traditional style boma under the stars, overlooking the Busanga Floodplains or indoors. No modern convenience has been spared throughout and the level of personal attention is superb.
