Day 1: Harare / Mana Pools National Park
From Harare or Victoria Falls you will fly to Kariba Airport, where you will be met by a safari representative and transferred to Ruckomechi Camp. The luxury camp is situated on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park, overlooking the Zambezi River and shaded by a grove of massive acacia trees. With no fences, the game wanders freely through the camp. The area is known for its outstanding variety of game including: lion, wild dog, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, kudu, zebra, impala and waterbuck.
Your accommodation for the next three nights will be in one of the ten beautifully appointed thatched chalets with en suite facilities. wildlife viewing activities include game drives, walks and canoe trips conducted by a staff of professional and personable guides. You can also take pontoon boat rides on the river, try your hand at tiger fishing, or visit the natural hide for close-up wildlife viewing.

Days 4/5: Lake Kariba / Matusadona National Park
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Matusadona National Park, a wonderful park that is situated along the southern shores of Lake Kariba. Lake Kariba was once a wilderness area before the damming of the Zambezi River, which formed one of the world's largest man-made inland seas. Covering almost 6,000 sq. kms, the lake is studded with islands, fringed by mountains and surrounded by shores teeming with wildlife.
For the next two nights you will have the unique experience of staying at Water Wilderness. Your accommodation will be in one of the "floating chalet's" moored in a secluded bay. The main lodge and dining room are housed in a floating "mother ship" which guests commute to by canoe or the camp's motorized pontoon boat. Activities include game drives in open safari vehicles, game walks, boating and canoeing.

Day 6: Hwange National Park
This morning you'll transfer to the Kariba Airport and fly to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's largest Park and home to over 107 species of mammals and 401 bird types. It is also one of the few remaining elephant sanctuaries left in Africa. It is not unusual to see huge herds of elephant, sometimes as many as 100 strong.
On arrival in Hwange, you will be met by a safari representative and transferred by light aircraft to Giraffe Springs. Newly opened in 1998, Giraffe Springs offers travelers a superb location from which to explore the natural wonders of the Park. The camp sleeps 20 in well-appointed tented accommodation. The main dining area is set in a commanding stand of Teak trees and the open deck faces onto Giraffe Pan and the surrounding area. Activities include game drives and walks with professional guides

Days 9/10: Victoria Falls | The Zambezi River
Say goodbye to the bush toDay as you board your flight by light aircraft to Hwange Airport and Victoria Falls. From the Victoria Falls Airport you will be met and transferred to The River Club - across the mighty Zambezi river in Zambia.
The River Club is situated 18 kms. upstream from Victoria Falls and consists of ten roomy wood and thatch split level chalets set amongst lush riverine vegetation along a steep bank overlooking the Zambezi River and Zambezi National Park. Possible activities include: fishing trips, sundowner boat trips to the islands in front of the lodge, canoe trips, visits to Mosi oa Tunya National Park, historical Livingstone, nearby African Villages and Stone-age sites.
For an extra cost, full Day canoe trips, white-water rafting, bungi jumping, helicopter and microlight flights, elephant-back safaris and tours of the Zimbabwe side of Vic Falls can be arranged. Overnight - The River Club (all meals and some activities)
Day 9: End of Safari
Board a chartered ferry and travel across the lake to the town of Kariba. Safari ends. Overnight - Option to participate in the Zambezi safari without the canoeing portion: |
